PIPING
Fomicom foams are well suited to both cold, hot and cryogenic insulation. Piping, tubing, valves etc. can be fitted with a layer of polyurethane which insulates but is also just as good at avoiding condensation and preventing corrosion.
The PUR foam can be injected in the metal casings (metal jacketing) which are placed at the desired distance from the piping work using spacers. In this way, cold – and heat loss are able to be avoided. This technical insulation technique is used among others in offshore insulation, shipping insulation, petrochemical insulation, process industry, fireproof insulation and pipeline insulation. Often this PU 2-component foam injection is technically combined with the use of pre-shaped scales.
